Tina Marie Book, age 63, of Albers, departed this life on March 11, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Breese, Illinois, on November 8, 1962, she was the cherished daughter of Thomas (Tom) and Erlene (Fink) Strubhart. Tina united in marriage with Kenneth "Bender" Book at St. Bernard Catholic Church on April 18, 1986, and he survives in Albers. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas (Tom) and Erlene Strubhart, and Father and Mother-in-law, Benedict (Dick) and Mary (Snookie) Book.
Tina is lovingly remembered by her children: Ben Book and his wife Karen, John Book and his wife Jessa, and Abby Detmer and her husband Kyle; her grandchildren: Jordyn, Olivia, Kolton, Kade, Bryce, Sophie, Bodie, and Wyler and Westin; her siblings: Elise and Jeff Brasel, Etta and Mike Roemerman, and Todd and Kristen Strubhart; along with her in-laws: Connie and Wayne Thuenemann, Kelly and Tony Baumgartner and Chris and Molly Book. As well as several nieces and nephews.
She was a dedicated contract specialist for the Department of Defense at Scott Air Force Base for 36 years and an active member of St. Bernard Parish. Tina's greatest pastime was spending time with her family, especially with her grandbabies. Tina was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, and grandmother. Tina also enjoyed scrapbooking, crafting, and traveling.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville, with Fr. Matthew Elie presiding. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.
Visitation will take place from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tina's memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice and will be received at the church or at Nordike Funeral Home, located at 15 East Hanover Street, New Baden, IL 62265.
