James B. “Jim” Strake, 67, of St. Charles, MO and formerly of Breese, IL, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born March 24, 1947 in Breese, IL, son of Victor F. and Lorraine H. (Peek) Strake. He married Bonita Brockgreitens on May 6, 1978 in St. Charles, MO and she survives in St. Charles, MO. In addition to wife, he is survived by his mother, Lorraine Strake of Breese, IL; a son, Matthew A. Strake of St. Charles, MO; and three brothers, Ronald T. (Laura) Strake of Breese, IL, Steve (Mary) Strake of Carlyle, IL, and Kevin (special friend, Tammy Warren) of Breese, IL. He was preceded in death by his father; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Edna (Hollander) Brockgreitens. Mr. Strake was an Inspector at Boeing in St. Louis, MO and a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Midwest Coinshooters and Historical Club in St. Louis, MO. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards and bingo. Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home in Breese, IL with Deacon Bob Lippert officiating.
