Stella Quitmeyer, 92, of Beckemeyer, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Breese Nursing Home. She was born August 6, 1923 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of James and Maria (Garcia) Solis. She married Delbert Quitmeyer on
August 21, 1941 at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer and he preceded her in death on May 31, 1985.
She is survived by her daughter, Caroline Jansen of Breese; two grandchildren, Beth Woltering and Susan (Dave) Draminski; five great-grandchildren, Nickolas Woltering, John David Draminski, Erin Draminski, Andrew Draminski, and Olivia Draminski; one great-great-granddaughter, Jayden Woltering; and a sister, Margaret (Robert) Kruep.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Francis “Sez” Jansen; a great-grandson, Luke Woltering; and three brothers, Nick, Oscar, and Benny Solis .
Mrs. Quitmeyer was a homemaker and a dietary cook at the Breese Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Anthony Parish and Ladies Sodality in Beckemeyer, and the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary in Breese.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer with Rev. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Beckemeyer.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Parish or St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax, Carlyle, IL 62231 who is serving the family.
