Sharon L. Krajcovic of Breese, Illinois died Monday, December 29, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri at the age of 80 years. Sharon was born in Centralia, Illinois on October 28, 1934, the daughter of Charles A. and Virginia Lee (Helm) West. She married Richard Krajcovic on December 23, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri, and he survives in Breese.
Sharon is also survived by a daughter: Vicki Vaughn and husband Chase of St. Charles, Missouri; and a brother: Charles “Chuck" West and wife Lydia of Centralia, Illinois.
Mrs. Krajcovic was preceded in death by her parents and an aunt and uncle: Eula and Mel Mahlandt.
Sharon had worked as a secretary at Breese High School and later owned Brides Palace in Breese. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Scotland and Slovakia. She was a member of Z.O.N.T.A. International and the Scottish-St. Andrews Society and attended the Highland Games throughout the country. She served for many years as the Pageant Director for the Clinton County Fair and helped young girls learn the skills of modeling. She was a Miss America Preliminary Judge for many years.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Millie Slack officiating. The interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Breese.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Saturday from 2 to 4:00 PM or on Sunday from 12 noon until the time of services.
For those wishing to honor Sharon with a memorial, the family suggests the Clinton County Humane Society and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
