Richard Crocker

June 3, 1944 — July 3, 2015

Richard “Dick” Crocker passed away at his home in Carlyle unexpectedly on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the age of 71. Dick was born in Breese, Illinois on June 2, 1944, the son of Bennet and Helen (Mueller) Crocker. He married Carolyn Monken at St. Mary Church in Carlyle on July 3, 1965 and she survives.
Dick is also survived by his sons: Todd Crocker and wife Cindy of Nashville, Tennessee and Travis Crocker and wife Carla of Breese; grandchildren: Cortney and fiance` Cole Schrage, Chelsea, Cole, Logan, Rylee and Alexa Crocker; brother: Jim Crocker and special friend Joyce Berg of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota; and daughter-in-law: Krista Gonzalez and husband Bryan of Breese.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Troy Crocker; parents-in-law: Walter and Wilma Monken; brothers-in-law: Harold and Wayne Monken; and sister-in-law: Mary Crocker.
Dick retired from the City of Carlyle Street and Alley Department after many years of service. He served in the United States Army.
Mr. Crocker was a member of St. Mary Church in Carlyle, the Carlyle Knights of Columbus Council #1382, where he had served as the Grand Knight, the Bishop Althoff Assembly for over 25 years, where he had served as the Faithful Navigator, Mater Dei High School Fathers and Friends Club, and was a volunteer with St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxialary. He was a former member of the Carlyle Fire Department and had served as the Coordinator of the Clinton County E.S.D.A. for years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church with Fr. George Mauck officiating. The interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or at St. Mary Church on Tuesday from 8:30 A.M. until the mass. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary Monday evening at St. Mary Church at 7:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Dick’s honor to Mater Dei Catholic High School or Relay For Life and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home.
