Lorene M. Rehkemper of St. Rose, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born near Aviston, daughter of Theodore and Helena (Wolters) Frohn. She married Jerome Rehkemper May 19, 1953 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston and he survives in St. Rose. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael Rehkemper and wife Sandy of New Baden; three grandchildren, Brad Rehkemper, Tricia Rehkemper and Karlee Rehkemper; two sisters, Dorothy Thole and Pauline Thuenemann and husband Vincent "Van" all of Highland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joan Frohn of Aviston, Paul and Jeanette Rehkemper, Eugene and Lorene Rehkemper all of St. Rose, Francis and Rose Rehkemper of Breese and Thomas and Rita Rehkemper of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Frohn; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Rosa (Hoh) Rehkemper; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Thole. Mrs. Rehkemper operated Rehkemper Tile and Floor in St. Rose for 35 years and with her husband operated Rehkemper & Son Building Components also in St. Rose. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality in St. Rose and the St. Rose Development Club. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Rev. Ed Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery in St. Rose. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008 and from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorial may be made to National Kidney Foundation and will be received at the funeral home.
