Pete Steuart

Pete Steuart, 69, of Albers, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born September 18, 1956 in Carrollton, IL. He married Debra Musenbrock September 30, 1978 in Albers and she survives in Albers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Megan Steuart, Michael (Leigha) Steuart, and Melanie (John) Schroeder; his grandchildren, Mason, Grayson, Harper, Aubree, and Jax; his siblings, Alan Steuart, Steve (Nancy) Koelz, and Kay Ann (Dave) Schomaker; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Musenbrock; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Allen & Angie Musenbrock, Sharon Smith, and Jan & Randy Reinhardt; as well as many nieces & nephews.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Kay Steuart; his daughter in infancy, Stacy Lynn Steuart; his father-in-law, Bernard Musenbrock; and his brother-in-law, Ron Smith.

Pete was the proud owner of Pete's Backdoor Lounge in Aviston and later Pete's Bar and Grill in Albers. Passionate about gambling, horse racing, and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, he also treasured his conversations with others and spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden. Burial will be held at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the wishes of the family and will be received at the funeral home.
