Patricia "Patty" Wolkowicz, age 75, formerly of New Baden, peacefully passed away on June 15, 2026, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Born on March 19, 1951, in St. Louis, MO, she was the beloved daughter of Hardigrew Charles and Elizabeth Roberta "Bert" Bridger.

Patty was united in marriage to Peter John "PJ" Wolkowicz on November 30, 1985, in New Baden, and they cherished their life together until his passing on December 30, 2016. Her memory is lovingly upheld by her sisters, Frances Karanovich and Sandee Stennett; her brother, Hardigrew Charles Bridger; her three sons, Joseph Wolkowicz of Whately, MA, Nicholas Wolkowicz of Ware, MA, and Thomas Hill of New Baden; her adoring grandchildren, Devin Hill, Logan Hill, Briana Wolkowicz, Parker Hill, Tyler Wolkowicz, Logan Wolkowicz, and Casandra Hill; and her dear great-grandchildren.

Patricia retired from Scott Air Force Base and was a dedicated member of the New Baden First Baptist Church. Her devotion to her faith, family, and community defined her life. From a young age, Patty demonstrated immense resilience, overcoming the odds and walking again after being told she never would, following her first back and hip surgery at the age of twelve. Despite enduring numerous surgeries, she remained a beacon of strength and grace.

A celebration of Patricia’s remarkable life will be held at her sister Frances Karanovich's residence on July 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life commencing at 4:00 PM, located at 2787 Woodfield Drive, Maryville, IL 62062.

In her honor, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor's choosing and forwarded to Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover St., New Baden, IL 62265, assisting the family during this time.
