Michael Cody Curry

Michael Cody Curry, age 37, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 7, 2025. He was born on September 28, 1987, to Joseph Gregory and Sarah J. (Delabar) Curry, both of whom preceded him in death.

Cody is also preceded in death by his step-mother, Mickey Curry, his sister, Miranda Huff, and his uncle, Patrick Curry.

He is survived by his son, Gavin Curry of Carlyle, and his siblings: Cole (Jil) Curry of Nashville, Caleb (Rachel) Curry of Carlyle, Sophia Curry of Nashville, and Cari (Milton) Hacking of Casper, Wyoming. He treasured his nieces and nephews: Austin Huff, Tyler Huff, Reagan Curry, Gregory Curry, and Charleigh Hacking; his grandparents, Sue and Dave Bates of Oquawka, and Mike and Marge Curry of Nashville, along with his aunts and uncles: Polly (Mike) Miller and Andrew (Jamie) Curry, all from Nashville; his brother-in-law, Steve Huff of Boulder; special friend Alexis Robert of Carlyle, and many close friends who held him dear.

Cody was a graduate of Carlyle High School. He was known for his passion for the outdoors, particularly for hunting and fishing. He was a dedicated member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, serving as a lineman for Local 702. Cody found great joy in his work and valued the friendships he made there. His willingness to lend a hand made a lasting impact on all who knew him. He loved his family and friends and cherished the time he had with them.

A memorial service to honor Cody's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Rev. Steve Upchurch officiating. Before the service, visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of services at Nordike Funeral Home.

Following the service, friends and family are warmly invited to join for a luncheon at Buxton's Banquet Hall in Beckemeyer.

Memorial contributions in memory of Cody are suggested to the American Cancer Society or a fund being established in his son's name, Gavin. Donations can be made payable to Cole Curry and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, located at 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.

Cody's spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
