Melvin W. Reinkensmeyer

September 15, 1928 — July 11, 2017

Melvin Wilhelm Reinkensmeyer, age 88, of Ferrin passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Breese Nursing Home. Melvin was born in Ferrin on September 15, 1928, the son of William F. and Alvina (Harre) Reinkensmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his sister Alma Strahan.
Mr. Reinkensmeyer is survived by his niece Amy Strahan of St. Louis; and three nephews: Brian (Lore) Strahan of Ballwin, Chris (Michele) Strahan of Manchester, and Keith (Robin) Strahan of New York City.

Melvin was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin and a veteran of the United States Army. He farmed all of his life carrying on his family’s tradition.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin with Pastor Scott Niermann officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Memorials are suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin and will be received at church or at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
