Maureen "Moe" A.
Goestenkors

St. Francis Catholic Church
Starts at 10:00 am
Maureen "Moe" A. Goestenkors, 81, of Aviston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born on June 5, 1944, in St. Rose, the daughter of George and Romilda, nee Woltering, Meyer. She married Robert A. "Bob" Goestenkors on April 6, 1964 in St. Rose and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1991.
Moe’s greatest joy was simply being with the people she loved. A devoted mother, she poured her heart into raising her three children and remained a constant source of love, support, and guidance throughout their lives. Nothing lit her up more than the sight of her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, whose presence brought endless smiles and laughter. Moe loved her family and friends dearly and had a gift for bringing people together. She also held a special place in her heart for the many friendships she formed during her years as the owner of the Lantern Inn Tavern, where she built lasting connections and cherished memories. She took great pride in supporting her town and the people in it, and found true joy in giving back to the community that supported her so wholeheartedly.
Moe is lovingly remembered by her children, Pam Haselhorst (Ken Schildroth), Shelly Feldmann (Tim), and Clay Goestenkors (Sherry). Her legacy extends through her grandchildren, Blake Feldmann (Jillian), and Trent Feldmann (Maggie); her step-grandchildren Kyle, Kimberly, and Klara Schildroth; and her great-grandchildren Henry, Tucker, Morgan, and Tate. She also leaves behind her sisters Mary Lou Isaak, Flo Hannagan, and Lori Williamson, along with her brother-in-law Dennis Ratermann.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by great-granddaughter Skylar Feldmann; her brother Larry Meyer; sisters Millie Jansen and Gerri Ratermann; as well as sister-in-law Jeanie Meyer and brothers-in-law Gene Jansen, Sam Hannagan, and Mike Williamson.
A visitation will be held at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 and from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Von Deeke officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
