MaryAnn Elizabeth "Mary" Strieker, 95, of Aviston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Aviston Countryside Manor. She was born April 1, 1930 in St. Rose, the daughter of Clem and Elizabeth, nee Wilke, Thole. She married Anthony J. "Bud" Strieker on October 28, 1953 in St. Rose, and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2003.
She is survived by her children, Phil Strieker of Aviston, Cliff (Marlene) Strieker of Jackson, MO, Barbara (Bryan) DeNeve of Paducah, KY, Betty Strieker of St. Peters, MO, Roger (Lisa) Strieker of Aviston, and Cindy (Mark) Rabideau of Auburn, IL; daughter-in-law, Trudy Strieker of Collinsville, IL; 10 grandchildren, Lindsay (Ryan) Johnson, Mackenzie (Brandon) Renner, Paul (Katie) DeNeve, Daniel DeNeve, John (Rachel) DeNeve, Mark (fiance, Kayla) DeNeve, David DeNeve, Madeline Strieker, Brendan Strieker, Sydney Rabideau; 3 step-grandchildren, Ashley (Paul) Turpin, Tyler (Hannah) Rabideau, and Cooper (Hannah) Rabideau; five great-grandchildren, Ruby & William Johnson, Elise & Henry Renner, and Chase DeNeve; six-step-great-grandchildren, Elliot, Hadley & Ainlee Turpin, Kinsley, Calum & Kylie Rabideau, and Oaklynn Rabideau; and her sister, Bernadette "Neddie" (James) Jansen.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Brian Strieker; two brothers, Robert Thole and Alfred Thole; two sisters, Florence "Toots" Tebbe and Ruth Potthast; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ernest Potthast, Florence Thole, Mary Ann Thole, Ferd Tebbe, Alphonse & Martha Strieker, Ferd & Alvina Strieker, Joseph & Lucille Mersinger, Robert & Dorothy Holtkamp, Pete & Bernette Frey, and Christine Strieker in infancy.
Mary was a homemaker and avid quilter, and retired from family farm life. She was a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Von Deeke officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
Visitiation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026 and again on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston.
Memorials may be made to St. Francis Parish, St. Francis Choir, or to Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home.
