Marilyn C. Fiedler

Marilyn C. Fiedler, 90, of Millstadt, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at her son’s home in Millstadt surrounded by her family. She was born January 23, 1933 in New Baden, the daughter of Emil and Frieda, nee Billhartz, Breiner. She married Edwin W. Fiedler June 13, 1957 in Damiansville and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2012.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Lynn (Steve) Muskopf, Alan (Susie) Fiedler, and Kent (Lana) Fiedler all of Millstadt, and Dale (Ann) Fiedler of Freeburg; six grandchildren, Kyle (Kari) Muskopf, Eric (Andrea) Muskopf, and Ben, Olivia, Taylor, & Kaitlyn Fiedler; four great-grandchildren, Amelia, Grady, Emerson, & Auden Muskopf; two sisters, Betty Santel and Darlene (Albin) Toennies all of Damiansville; and two sisters-in-law, Nolly Fiedler of Denver, CO, and Helen Fiedler of Belleville.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Lavergne Breiner; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Julie Breiner, Frank Santel, Ardell & Lucille Fiedler, Dorothy & Bob Wondree, Estelle & Howard Chandler, Delores & Joe Gass, Paul Fiedler, James Fiedler, Lucille & Ernie Sodam, Marilyn & Ray Buss, and Elvira Fiedler.

Mrs. Fiedler was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and ladies sodality in Belleville, and was an active member of the Meals on Wheels Program and PSOP. Marilyn enjoyed quilting, bowling, playing volleyball and tennis, traveling with family and friends, and attending sporting events and activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

 Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleville with Rev. Joseph Oganda officiating. Burial will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery in Belleville.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleville.
