April 4, 1941 — May 28, 2025

Carlyle

Margie Ann Taylor, aged 84, of Carlyle, peacefully passed away on May 28, 2025, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center. Born on April 4, 1941, she was the cherished daughter of Clyde and Edith (Simms) Short. Margie married Charles Taylor on November 22, 1959, who sadly preceded her in death in 1974.

She is cherished and survived by her devoted children: James Taylor and his wife, Cindy; Katherine Kreke and her husband, Terry; Mary Reynolds and her husband, Daryl; and Richard Taylor and his wife, Cami, along with her grandchildren: Josh Taylor and his wife Rachel, Dustin Taylor and his special friend Jamie, Amber Maue and her husband Brett, Heather Taylor and her special friend Josh, Charles Kreke and his wife Heather, Becca Kreke and her special friend Dominic, and Reagan Taylor with her special friend Luke. She was also a proud great-grandmother, delighting in Chase, Landun, Hunter, Gage, Nolan, Myles, Penelope, Finn, and Ripper. Margie is survived by her dear sisters, Barbara Placek and her husband Jack, and Edna Nelefski; her brother-in-law Bob Taylor and his wife Connie; as well as her sisters-in-law: Ilene Allison and her husband Ray, Darlene Hegger and her husband Don, Nancy Weckler and her husband Chris, and Pat Taylor.

Margie was welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband, her parents, her brother Bill Short, her infant granddaughter Tiffany Taylor, and her in-laws, Mildred and James Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her sisters-in-law Mildred ‘Sis’ Lampe and her husband Dave, Phyllis Schniers and her husband Bernell, and her brothers-in-law Roy Taylor and his wife Louise, Jack Taylor and Jesse Taylor.

An artist at heart, Margie expressed her creativity through her paintings, sculpture, and flower gardening. She took immense joy in the beauty of nature, finding peace in the simple pleasures of life, such as the fragrance of blooming flowers and the gentle breeze on her skin during evening walks under the moonlight. Margie cherished every sunrise and sunset. She loved her family and spending time with all of them. Margie believed the kitchen was a place for dancing, much more than cooking. She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and joyful memories that will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
