Lois A. Deason, 75, of New Baden, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at her home in New Baden. She was born on October 28, 1948, in Belleville, IL and raised in O'Fallon, the daughter of Ralph H. and Margaret, nee Bailey, Thomas. She married Raymond Deason April 3, 1967 in Carthage, TN and spent 57 loving years together.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughters, Gina (Shawn) Meier and Laura (Brad) Bequette; granddaughter, Alaina Bequette (friend Blain Winters); step-grandchildren, Tom (Shannon) Bequette and Chad (Ashley) Bequette; step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean (Tom) Lebert; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry & Debbie Deason and Sandra Hugar; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her immediate family members, Lois had a special bond with her beloved dog Bandit who brought comfort and joy into her life.
Among those who preceded Lois in passing are her brother, Dale Edward Thomas; nephews, Richard Deason and John Hugar Jr., as well as in-laws James Richard & Nancy Deason, and John Hugar.
Lois leaves a legacy from her accomplished career as a supervisor at ATT for 30 years. She was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden and served as past president for the Eagle's Auxiliary 545.
Throughout her life, she found joy in various hobbies and interests such as solving puzzles, sharing recipes with loved ones, shopping for treasures, dining out to explore new cuisines, and embarking on adventures to Florida and Tennessee.
In remembrance of Lois's life and legacy, visitation will be held at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden, IL on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Shiloh.
Lois's warm smile and loving spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
