Joshua Allen Toennies

Joshua Allen Toennies, 26, of New Baden, died Monday, August 10, 2015 in Lookingglass Twp. He was born December 7, 1988 in Breese, son of Allen Toennies and Mindy Deiters.

Josh is survived by his father, Allen (fiancée, Candi) Toennies of Carlyle; his mother, Mindy Deiters of Damiansville; grandmother, Julie Toennies of New Baden; sister, Brittany Toennies of New Baden; uncles and aunts, Terry & Bonnie Toennies and Ken & Gloria Toennies all of Trenton, Stanley Toennies of Aviston, Jim & Kara Toennies of Albers, Dan & Carolyn Fleming of Trenton, and Tammy & Mike Lewis of CO; many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and his beloved dog, Emma.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Walter “Walt” Toennies and Donald Fleming; and a grandmother, Sandra Mullins.

Mr. Toennies was a carpenter at Korte-Luitjohan Construction in Highland. He enjoyed being outdoors, turkey and deer hunting, fishing, demo derbies, and spending time with friends at the river.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Eugene Neff officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 and from
8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015 at Nordike Funeral Home in
New Baden.

Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
