Geoffrey Leigh Walthes, age 34, of Germantown passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 in Highland, Illinois. He was born on April 5, 1981 in Nashville, Illinois the son of Gary Walthes and Brenda Richter. Geoffrey married Susan Wess on September 4, 2003 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in New Memphis, and she survives.
In addition to his wife Susan, Geoffrey is also survived by his children, Alana and Kyleah all of Germantown; his mother: Brenda Richter (special friend Clinton Morgan) of Mascoutah: his father Gary (Vicki) Walthes of Coulterville; three brothers: Gary (Jeanette) Walthes of Bartelso; Franklin and Donovan Walthes both of Coulterville; his sister Deane (BJ) Campbell of Tennessee; his aunt: Pat Hodges of New Baden; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Susan and Perry Elder of Fairview Heights; two brothers-in-law: Denny (Nicki) Wess of Belleville, Josh (Micki) McKnight of Walkertown, North Carolina; nieces and nephews: Lathian, Zoe, Ethan, Dominic, Gage, Gavin, and Haley Walthes, Andrew, Jaxon, and Vance Wess, and Gabrieal McKnight, Justin and Jacob Campbell and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Walthes was preceded in death by his step father: Norbert Richter; his paternal grandmother Marjorie Walthes; paternal grandfather Arnold “Butch” Walthes; his maternal grandmother Barbara Fox and maternal grandfather Jerry Fox; and his uncle: Evert Hodges.
Geoffrey owned and operated Walthes Waterproofing, he had been in trade for 15 years and an owner the last 4 years. He had many talents, loves, and joys. He was an amazing pool player and was on Clinton County Bank Pool League and the St. Clair County Bank Pool League. He had a talent and love for taking things from being in shambles and making them spectacular. His love was for the outdoors, swimming, his girls, fishing, camping, four wheeler riding, and BBQ’s with family and friends. His laughter was contagious. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in New Memphis. Geoff’s love for his family was extraordinary. His girls were his entire world. He will be remembered as the most hard working, kind hearted, most giving, loving friend, husband, and daddy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in New Memphis with Rev. Eichhorn and Rev. Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. And on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at St. Peter Church in New Memphis from 8:00 AM until the time of services.
