ALL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CAMPBELL FUNERAL HOME, CARMI, IL Ruth A. Friedman, 88, of Breese, IL and formerly of Carmi, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL. She was born July 15, 1926 in McLeansboro, IL, the daughter of Albert and Irene (Schuster) Rubenacker. Ruth married William E. "Bill" Friedman on June 5, 1945 and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2009. She was a member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild and Parrish Quilters. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rev. Father Daniel Friedman of Aviston, IL and Charles and Kathy Friedman of Evansville, IN; a sister, Mary Karcher of Breese, IL; a sister-in-law, Ellen Mayse of Newburgh, IN and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and three brothers, Charles "Sonny", Paul L. and Charles Rubenacker. A Mass of Christian burial for Ruth A. Friedman, 88, of Breese, IL and formerly of Carmi, will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Carmi with Rev. Father Daniel Friedman and Vincent Obi officiating. Burial will be in St. Polycarp Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi where a prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m.. Memorial gifts may be given in Ruth's name to St. Polycarp Cemetery and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
