Kellermann

Evelyn L. Kellermann, age 97, of Carlyle, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born on March 6, 1929, in Pageton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Daniel H. and Alta Mae (Book) Meyer. Evelyn married Peter "Pete" Paul Kellermann on August 12, 1947, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle. Her husband preceded her in death on March 3, 1995.
Evelyn was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, David Meyer and infant Harold Meyer; grandchildren, Kelly Kellermann and Jeremy Kellermann; daughter-in-law, Debra Kellermann; and brother-in-law, Stanley Skrobul.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Donna Anderson and her husband, Rick, of Carlyle, Ralph Kellermann of Carlyle, and Ellen Nelson and her husband, Gary, of Doniphan, Missouri. Evelyn also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kevin Kellermann, Terry Moore, Jeff Kellermann, and Amy Alexander; ten great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Gary Meyer, and wife, Diane, of Carlyle; and sister-in-law, Edith Skrobul, of Beckemeyer.
Throughout her life, Evelyn was known for her warm spirit and openness. She was a caring and devoted mother who embraced every challenge with grace. A friendly soul, she never met a stranger and could engage anyone with ease. Evelyn began her career at Moran Shoe Factory in Carlyle before moving to Bloomington for her husband's work. While living there, she worked in grocery store bakeries, Beich's Candy Factory, and as a bartender in several towns, including Merna, Cooksville, and Colfax. After 32 years, her and Pete returned to Carlyle.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle, a graveside service and burial will immediately follow at Posey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Breeze Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice. Donations can be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
