Dolores Von Bokel, 91, of Aviston, died Friday, January 16, 2026 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was born May 6, 1934 in Bartelso, the daughter of Henry and Cecilia, nee Usselmann, Albers, Sr. She married Robert T. "Bob" Von Bokel on April 10, 1956 in Bartelso and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2010.
Dolores is survived by three daughters, Janice Von Bokel of Fairview Heights, Diane Von Bokel of Aviston, and Linda (John) Majchrzak of Albers; three sons, Gary (Kris) Von Bokel of Germantown, Karl (Amy) Von Bokel of O’Fallon, MO, and Brian (Bonnie) Von Bokel of Aviston; 15 grandchildren, Lisa Von Bokel, Craig (Alicia) Von Bokel, Krista Von Bokel, Jennifer Hall, Michael (Elizabeth) Majchrzak, Jackson Von Bokel, Carter Von Bokel, Avery Von Bokel, Tyler Von Bokel, Zachary Von Bokel, Anna Von Bokel, Claire Von Bokel, Cameron Von Bokel, Savannah Von Bokel, and Nixon Von Bokel; 4 great-grandchildren, Kyler Von Bokel, Elyse Von Bokel, Zoe Hall, and Eli Hall; and sisters-in-law, Mary Schulte, Betty Von Bokel, and Mary Bulhofner all of Aviston,
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Sharon Von Bokel, Roger Von Bokel and Mary Kay Von Bokel; a grandchild, Kyle Von Bokel; two sisters, Leona Voss and Viola Korte; four brothers, Norbert Albers, Henry "Jitter" Albers, Richard Albers, and Eugene Albers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alfred Voss, Edward Korte, Marie Albers, Lucille Albers, Margie Albers, Ferd & Helen Von Bokel, Paul & Bernice Von Bokel, Bernard Von Bokel, and Ralph & Mary Jane Von Bokel; she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben J. and Catherine "Kate" (Fuhler) Von Bokel.
Dolores lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family and hard work. A dedicated homemaker, she embraced the farm lifestyle, caring for home with dedication and grace while finding joy in simple rhythms of rural life. Her strong faith guided her daily life and was a source of comfort and strength to those around her. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, watching game shows, completing word search puzzles and spending time with family, especially during gatherings filled with laughter and love. Her gentle spirit, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. She was a proud member of St. Francis Parish and the American Legion Post 1239 Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Von Deeke officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026 and again on Monday, January 26, 2026 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston. The American Legion Auxiliary will have a walk-thru at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Community Link, St. Francis Parish, or the American Legion Auxiliary Post 1239 and will be received at the funeral home.
