Dennis W. Franke

Dennis W. Franke, 81, of New Baden, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O'Fallon, IL. He was born on March 25, 1944, in Belleville, IL, the son of LeRoy and Verida, nee Mehrmann, Franke. He married Tamey Warwick November 13, 1993 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Belleville and she survives in New Baden

Dennis was a band teacher for many years, inspiring generations of students with his love of music. He also served as a bus driver for Wesclin, ensuring the safe transport of children  and going to lots of games further showcasing his commitment to the youth of his community.

Outside of his professional life, Dennis had a variety of interests that enriched his personal life. He found joy in riding his motorcycle, immersing himself in the pages of a good book, and tending to his garden. These hobbies reflected his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for nature and knowledge.

A proud member of the Masonic Douglas Lodge #361 in Mascoutah, IL, Dennis was well-known for his dedication to service and fellowship within his community. His contributions and positive spirit left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Tamey Warwick-Franke, his sons, Michael Franke of New Baden and Keith (Tammy) Franke of Trenton. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Brandon Franke and Rebecca (Ethan) Ratermann, and as a great-grandfather to Ellie. Additionally, he is remembered by his sister, Brenda (Bob) DeCamp of Smithton, along with extended family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Nordike Funeral Home, located at 15 E Hanover St, New Baden, IL 62265, followed by a memorial service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Memorials made in memory of Dennis are suggested to the Clinton County Humane Society or Shriner's Hospital for Children and will be received at the funeral home.
