Dean Francis Johnson, II, 45, of Carlyle, known fondly as "DKnow" by his loved ones and community, passed away on July 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Dean was born on August 2, 1978, in Belleville, IL, the son of Calvin Dean and Jacqueline D. Johnson, II. He married Jessica Spain July 11, 2015 who survives in Carlyle
Throughout his life, Dean established himself as the dedicated owner of D/Knows Exterior Construction in Carlyle, IL, showcasing his passion for craftsmanship and hard work. He took immense pride in his work and relationships he built with those around him.
Dean will always be remembered for his warm personality and generous spirit. He was cherished by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Dean's willingness to help others knew no bounds; he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His genuine nature and kind-heartedness touched the lives of many, making him an exceptional individual.
In his leisure time, Dean found joy in simple pleasures such as spending evenings grillin n chillin and hanging out by the pool with family and friends. He also loved boating adventures and was known for his knack for fixing things and collecting tools—even those he might only need once!
One of Dean's proudest accomplishments was the time he spent with his beloved family and friends. His devotion to his loved ones was unwavering, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dean is survived by his children, Colton Tilney of St. Petersburg, FL, and Calvin Johnson & Madalynn Johnson of Carlyle; his sister, Amy Holland of St. Petersburg, FL; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Doug & Lisa Spain of Elida, OH; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Aaron) Bradley; and his cherished friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM; followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle, IL.
Memorials made in memory of Dean may be made for his children (checks payable to Jessica Johnson).
Dean's memory will live on through those who had the privilege of knowing him—a true friend and a loving presence that will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.
