Charles “Kinkie” Wayne Massie Jr., age 60, of Carlyle died on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Carlyle Healthcare Center. He was born on December 6, 1962 in Centerville.Illinois the son of Charles Wayne Massie Sr. and Helen Moallankamp.

He is survived by his son, Charles Wayne Massie III and wife Ashley of Breese; grandchildren: Victoria Rhodes, Vivian Rhodes, and twins, Camden and Claudia Massie; sisters: Linda Massie, and Kandi (Al)Vincent; nephews: Allen (Katie)Vincent and Charles Joseph(Brianna)Massie.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Charles was a 1981 graduate of Dupo High School. He was very active in his younger years, he worked as a truck driver for Bussen Quarry, Trade Waste Incineration and various other trucking companies, and was always known as a jokester. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 474, Columbia, IL. He loved playing chess with his son and enjoyed to fish, camp, hunt and cook.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. Paul Evangelical Cemetery in Columbia Il

Memorials made in memory of Charles are suggested to his grandchildren’s college fund with check being made payable to Charles Massie III, and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
