Charles Gordon Brown, lovingly called Charlie, passed away December 24th, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield. He was born on October 1st, 1944, in Clarksdale, MS to his parents Clovis and Maurine Brown.

Charlie had a fulfilling career that spanned many years. He worked at High Lake Poultry until his retirement. After retiring from High Lake Poultry, he embarked on a new adventure and drove a tour bus for 10 years.

Apart from his successful career, Charlie had a lively personality and cherished his family dearly. He was a devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love for his wife Janice of 32 years, was evident to all who knew them.

Charlie is survived by his wife Janice Brown as well as their children Sondra & Bob Hornsey, Chad Brown, Susan & David Yates, Sheila & David Thacker. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren - Madeline & Joshua Haslett, August Hornsey, Jeffrey Brown, Laci & Jay Brown, Nicole Radev, Nathan Radev, David & Brianna Thacker, Darren & Savanah Thacker - and great-grandchildren Violet & Emma Haslett, Kensey & Karsyn Brown, Harper & Oliver Brown, Kallie & Karmyn Thacker as well as Luke Thacker,  Beau & Lukas Weaver. Brothers and sisters - Marie Nelson, Brenda Dye, Patricia Rayburn, Carl Gordon, and Larry Gordon.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Outside of work, Charlie loved to travel with his wife experiencing the beauty of different landscapes. Exploring new places with beautiful scenery.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the memorial service honoring Charlie's life which will take place on December 30th, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Carlyle. The service will begin at 1:00 PM and will be held at 12808 Slant Rd, Carlyle, IL, 62231.
