Benedict Manfucci of Carlyle died Sunday morning, January 18, 2015 at his home at the age of 81 years. Benedict was born in Sandoval, Illinois on January 22, 1933, the son of Placido and Clara (Frank) Manfucci. He married Beverly Crane on December 29, 1951 in Sandoval, and she survives in Carlyle.
Mr. Manfucci is also survived by his children: Deb Lyons and husband Allen of Carlyle, Tony Manfucci and wife Sandy of Carlyle, Chris Manfucci and wife Carol of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Scott Manfucci and wife Janie of Carlyle; grandchildren: Tammy Frailey, Autumn Bayne, Anya Jourdan, Jessica Lyons, Abbey LeFrancois and Sarah Manfucci, and Dustin Wuebbles; twelve great grandchildren: and a sister: Frances Schneider of Carlyle.
Benedict was a retired Illinois Bell Telephone employee and was a life member of I.B.E.W. Union. Mr.Manfucci was a member of St. Mary Church in Carlyle and served in the U.S. Navy in the early 1950’s. He enjoyed woodworking before his health deteriated, and thoroughly enjoyed being with his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church in Carlyle on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. George Mauck officiating.
The interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the Manfucci family at St. Mary Church in Carlyle on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M.
