Shelly Smith

Shelly Smith, 59, of Centralia, died Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born March 12, 1961 in Pinedale, WY, the daughter of John and Catherine McRoy. She married Larry Smith June 12, 2004 in Centralia and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2008.

Shelly is survived by her significant other, Guy “Buck” Lanter of Centralia; a brother, John (Shelly) McRoy of Bartelso; a sister, Susan (Fred) Ferguson of Centralia; an aunt, Marilyn Zobrist of Highland; and nieces and nephews, Taylor (Brett) Peek, Dalton McRoy, Christy (Touche) Little, and John Ferguson.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Calvin & Sylvia McRoy, and Louis & Lucille Jasper; and three uncles, Leonard Zobrist, Dave Kohlbrecher, and LaVerne Jasper.

Shelly worked at Walgreen Distribution Center in Mt. Vernon. She loved riding motorcycles; all her horses and other animals; and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.

Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.

Memorials may be made to Clinton County Relay for Life and will be received at the funeral home.
