    Norma Jean Miller

    December 14, 1937 - May 11, 2022

    Norma Jean Miller, nee Friederich of New Baden, Illinois formerly of Park Forest, Illinois passed away on May 11, 2022. After a long and courageous battle with cancer she was 84. She is survived by her children: Kathie Miller of Sun City, Arizona, Jonna Miller of Scottsdale, Arizona, Michael (Beth) Miller of Midland, Alabama, and Jack (Elizabeth) Miller Fenton, Missouri; and stepdaughter Sheri Sauthoff of Denver Colorado.Her Brothers: James Friederich of New Badenand Robert (Tina) Friederich of FairView Heights, Illinois. She alsohad twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews as well. Preceded in death by her husband Jonathan, her son Mathew Miller; her parents Earl and Catherine Friederich; her sister, Marva and Bill Daters, her sister in law Sandy Friederich; her father in law and mother in law, Jack and Dorothy Miller, two brother in laws Jerry (Gussie) Miller, Skip (Marie) Miller, Beverly Litwin and sister in law Donna (Bob) Montgomery. Many of her fur babies, especially Chaser. She worked as an office manager at Marshall Fields in Park Forest. Upon retirement she worked as a bus aide for the Mascoutah school district. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Baden where she served as the church pianist. She loved playing the piano and she gave many thoughts in her church offertories. Norma enjoyed traveling with her loved ones and lived in various areas of the U.S. Belleville, El Paso Texas, Massapequa New York, Woodland Hills California and Park Forest Illinois. In 1999 she returned to her beloved hometown of New Baden. Norma enjoyed going to yard sales, playing bingo with her family. Most recently was seen giving tours of the town in her golf cart. She will be greatly missed by her family friends and all who know her. Goodbye Norma Jean. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of New Baden with Pastor Dave Manley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in New Baden. Memorials may be made in memory of Norma to the ASPCA and will be received at church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 East Hanover Street, New Baden, IL 62265.
