Pearl E. Mueller, 79, of Mascoutah, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her home. She was born October 29, 1935 in Plum Hill, IL, daughter of John and Alberta (Wulf) Engelman. She married Martin H. Mueller July 12, 1955 in Fort Lee, VA and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2013. Mrs. Mueller is survived by her children, Mark Mueller of Mascoutah, Barb (Bob) Blaylock of Troy, David Mueller of Okawville, Susan (Cy) Schniers of Mascoutah, Jane (Doug) Wagner of Marissa, Libbie (Larry) Fix and Tina (John) Jakob all of Belleville, and Ryan (Nikki) Mueller of New Memphis; 24 grandchildren, Tiffany Mueller, Lucas Mueller, Jennifer (Jim) Phillips, Amanda (Mark) Griese, Kyle (Alicia) Uhring, Brittney Netemeyer, A.J. Netemeyer, Blake (Jamie) Mueller, Derk (Kelly) Mueller, Talyah Mueller, Holly (Jeremy) Burrow, Erick (Tamara) Vernia, Taylor (fiancée, Jennifer Nesbit) Wagner, Jordon (Bailey) Wagner, Maggie Fix, Daniel Fix, Trey Fix, Amanda Fix, Rayne Jakob, River Jakob, Jake Mueller, Kailey Mueller, Tristan Mueller, and Josh (Heather) Schniers; six great-grandchildren, Lexi and James Joseph Phillips, Addison Bruni, Faith and Taylor Vernia, and Abigail Burrow; three sisters, Violet (Jim) Sisney of Nashville, IL, Fern (Dewey) Jernigan of Spring, TX, and Marilyn (Ron) Bright of Columbus, OH; a brother, Dennis Engelman of Nashville, IL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Engelman of Kingston, OH, Barbara Engelman of Centerville, TN, Ralph (Norma) Mueller and Johanna Mueller all of New Baden, Jerome (Sally) Mueller of Belleville, Mary (Vincent) Hogg of Lebanon, Benedict Mueller of Bethalto, Benjamin (Joanne) Mueller of Mascoutah, James (Pat) Mueller of Glendale, KY, Larry (Thelma) Mueller of Fairview Heights, Richard Mueller of Nashville, TN, Phillip (Linda) Mueller and Thomas (Karen) Mueller all of New Baden; and she is also survived by her friend and companion, Boots. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, John Engelman; mother and step-father, Alberta and Wilbert Rabenort; a grandson, James Funk; a great-grandson, Hunter Dean Burrow; three brothers, Lawrence, Melvin, and Robert Engelman; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alfred & Aline Mueller, Tony & Rosalie Mueller, Mary Ann Mueller, Rosemary Mueller, Marie Engelman, and Clyde Hatfield. Mrs. Mueller had a Master’s Degree in Domestic Engineering from the School of Hard Knocks. She was a member of Holy Childhood of Jesus Catholic Church in Mascoutah, a loving mother of eight fantastic children, and an excellent cook. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Holy Childhood of Jesus Catholic Church in Mascoutah with Rev. Jim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Childhood Cemetery in Mascoutah. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015 and from 8 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden. In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, please donate to Heartland Hospice.
