Michael Markus

Michael Markus, 49, of Aviston, died Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his home. He was born January 4, 1971 in Belleville, the son of Benedict “Dick” and Cecilia, nee Rakers, Markus.

Mike is survived by his mother, Cecilia “Ceil” Markus of Aviston; his daughter, Lauren (special friend, Neil Haar) Markus of Beckemeyer; his siblings, Angela (Randy) Rule and Cynthia (Robert) Ratermann all of Aviston; and nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his father; and a sister,
Rebecca Mary Markus in infancy.

Mr. Markus worked as a ground man operator. He enjoyed riding his side by side, boating, and spending time with his family and friends at the clubhouse.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 until 9:45 AM at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston.
