Joseph T. Meier, 70, of Breese, died Monday, April 13, 2015 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was born May 11, 1944 in Breese, son of Edward J. “Lefty” and Catherine W. (Bruegge) Meier; and they preceded him in death. He is survived by a brother, Paul (Carol) Meier of Chesterfield, MO; nieces and nephews, Kathleen (Steve) Ludwig of Breese, William (Debbie) Meier of St. Louis, MO, Amy (David) Hansfield of Wheaton, and David (Alina) Meier of O’Fallon; great-nephews and great-nieces, Alex, Gabrielle, and Zachary Ludwig, Liam, Abby, and Emmy Meier, Jacob, Noah, Olivia, and Levi Hansfield, and Hannah, Ashton, and Elliot Meier. Mr. Meier was co-owner of Excel Bottling Company in Breese, where he worked his entire life. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Chuck Tuttle officiating.
