Mary M. 'Sis' Meyer of Carlyle died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese at the age of 91 years. Mrs. Meyer was born in Carlyle on August 27, 1918, the daughter of Joseph C. and Mary J. (Hitpas) Lampen. She married August 'Gus' Meyer on November 29, 1945 at St. Mary Church in Carlyle, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1993. Mrs. Meyer was also preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Mary Lynn Meyer; and a sister: Sr. Joel Lampen.Mrs. Meyer is survived by a daughter: Nancy Meyer and husband Richard Kutta of St. Louis; a son: Michael A. Meyer and wife Angela Hoffman Meyer of Shiloh; two brothers: Edward Lampen and wife Mary Jane of Carlyle and John Lampen of Breese; four grandchildren: Andrew and Evan Kutta, Jessie Meyer Janssen and Leanne Courson; and four great grandchildren: Chloe Marie Janssen, Cade James Janssen, Tyler and Zachary Courson.Sis was a member of St. Mary Church and St. Ann’s Altar Sodality. Sis was an active member of the Clinton County Historical Society, having served as its president and various other offices.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. George Mauck officiating. The interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or on Saturday from 8 to 9:30 A.M.Memorials can be made in Sis’s honor to St. Mary Church in Carlyle or to the Clinton County Historical Society and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
