Marvin J. Hollenkamp, age 63, of Aviston died on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis. He was born on December 26, 1953 in Highland, the son of Norbert G. and Estella M. (Wiegmann) Hollenkamp. He married Jane Rakers in Trenton on December 15, 1973 and she survives in Aviston.

In addition to his wife, Marvin is survived by four sons: Eric (Jamie) Hollenkamp of Highland, Kyle (Cassie) Hollenkamp of Aviston, Lucas (Ashley) Hollenkamp of Aviston, and Nick (Beth) Hollenkamp of Aviston; ten grandchildren: Eric and Jayce Powell, Ethan Hollenkamp, Brennan Willmirth, Nora and Nate Hollenkamp, Owen Albers, Fischer, Tyson, and Wren Hollenkamp; his siblings: Dennis (Susie) Hollenkamp of Carlyle, Ron (Diane) Hollenkamp of Aviston, Rich (Mary) Hollenkamp of Breese, Janice (Carl) Haas of Bowling Green, KY, Margie (Wayne) Kiefer of New Baden, Eileen (Jim) Boeckman of Breese, and Aggie (Butch) Wellen of Highland; his in-laws: Elaine Colvin, Bonnie (Rob McClean) Weinacht, Dale (Paula) Peek, Jay (Joan) Blair; and three aunts: Marie Hollenkamp, Mary Ann Bruenning, and Loraine Hollenkamp.

Mr. Hollenkamp was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, Norman Hollenkamp and Jerry Hollenkamp; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Bert and Sylvia Rakers; sisters-in-law: Betty Hollenkamp and Lou Hollenkamp; a brother-in-law, John Colvin Sr.; a nephew, John Colvin Jr., a niece, Charity Peek, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

Marvin was a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston and the Trenton Knights of Columbus Council 2932. He was a train conductor for Canadian National Railroad for 40 years before retiring. Mr. Hollenkamp was fascinated by astronomy and was an avid sports fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved family parties when all of his loved ones were together.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston. Followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Hidden Lake Winery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston. The Trenton Knights of Columbus Council 2932 will have a prayer service at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials made in Marvin’s memory are suggested to Mater Dei High School and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home.
