Marjorie Florence Pax

Marjorie Florence Pax, age 93 of Carlyle passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Carlyle Healthcare Center. Marjorie was born in Bartelso, Illinois on July 26, 1922, the daughter of Louis “Blue” and Sofia (Schmitt) Erlinger. She married Richard Pax on February 19, 1946 in Bartelso and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2014.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pax was preceded in death by two sisters: Cyrilla Huene and Sophie Erlinger; and her three brothers: Raymond Erlinger, Alvin P. Erlinger, and Laverne Erlinger.
She is survived by two brothers: Erwin Erlinger and wife Edna of Carlyle and Adrian Erlinger and wife Helen of Belleville. As well as numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle and the St. Ann Altar Sodality. She served as secretary for the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary. Marjorie enjoyed making crafts, sewing and gardening. She loved traveling, she and her husband took several trips to Florida and Texas.
In keeping with Marjorie’s wishes all services will be private.
Memorials in honor of Mrs. Pax are suggested to St. Mary Church in Carlyle and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle which is serving the family.
