Mariella Thomas, age 84, of Carlyle passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. Mariella was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on October 22, 1932 the daughter of Harvey and Ella (Putt) Miller. She married Leroy Thomas on January 19, 1953 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2008.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mariella was preceded in death by her son, Michael Thomas; a sister-in-law, Marlene Edwards; a brother-in-law, Charles Thomas; and her granddaughter Tara Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Thomas of Carlyle; her daughter-in-law, Lynn Thomas of Pennsylvania; brothers-in-law, Joe (Sharon) Thomas of Beckemeyer, and Frank Edwards of Carlinville, sister-in-law, Jackie Paese of Harrisburg, PA; two grandchildren and five great – grandchildren.
Private services were held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle. Burial followed at McKendree Chapel Cemetery in Keyesport.
