Luwanda R. Chappell, 80, of New Baden, died Saturday, August 13, 2022 at her home. She was born on December 9, 1941 in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Clif and Lourena Christian. She married Thomas Chappell on November 7, 1958 in Patoka, IL and he preceded her in death on February 5, 2017.
She is survived by her children, Rena (Richard) Schulte and Tammy (John) Thomas all of New Baden, IL, Andrew (Mary) Chappell of Vienna, IL, and Amber (Jeff) Nelson of Canton, IL; eight grandchildren, Bryan (Teresa) Schulte, Clenton (Tricia) Schulte, Thomas (Jen) Timmermann, Catherine (Brent) Davis, Chloe (Zach) Oestmann, Max Nelson, Katie France, and Sadie France; five great-grandchildren, Logan Davis, Ethan Davis, Aurora Davis, Caelin Timmermann, and Alex Schulte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and husband.
All services will be private.
Memorials may be made to HSHS Hospice and will be received at the funeral home
