Kimberly Ann Koontz

Kimberly Ann Koontz, 51, of New Baden, died Saturday, November 14, 2020 in Albers. She was born October 9, 1969 in Belleville, the daughter of Gary and Lucille, nee Thoele, Koontz.

Kim is survived by her parents, Gary & Lucille Koontz of New Baden; her siblings, Jeffery Koontz of New Baden, Jody (special friend, Melissa Haley) Koontz of Albers, and Lynn (Wallace) McDuffey of Carlyle; nephews and nieces, David, Blake, and Allyssa Koontz, and Rachel, Sarah, and Wallace McDuffey III.

Kim is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ralph & Bonnie Carver; and maternal grandparents, William & Annie Thoele.

Ms. Koontz worked for Highland Healthcare for over 25 years. She was a member and regular churchgoer of St. George Parish in New Baden where she also handed out communion. Kim enjoyed pencil art and color by numbers, reading romance novels, going out to eat with her parents, watching Nascar and the St. Louis Cardinals, shopping especially at Kohls, and interacting with her nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Dale Maxfield officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden.

Memorials may be made to St. George Parish or the wishes of the family and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover St., New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
