Janet Fern Rensing

Janet Fern Rensing, 86, of New Baden, died Monday, December 23, 2019 at Trenton Village. She was born August 30, 1933 in Belleville, the daughter of Herman and Fern, nee Fritsche, Bitters. She married Herman Bernard Rensing May 25, 1952 in Belleville and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1980.

Janet is survived by her children, Ronald J. (Robin G.) Rensing of RR Mulberry Grove, Linda Ann (Thomas F.) Fuehne of Albers, and Diane (Roger) Wolf of Chilhowee, MO; five grandchildren, Erin (Rob) Jackson, Kelly (special friend, Marc Timmons) Rensing, Nichole (Bryan) Lichtsinn, Elyse (Christopher) Harpstrite, and Jennifer (Aaron) Beckmann; eight great-grandchildren, Skylar Rensing, Willow Rensing, Harper & Holden Lichtsinn, Colton & Ryker Harpstrite, and Elias & Cyrus Beckmann; a brother, Robert Bitters; a sister, Joyce (Luther) Quinton; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Marge Rensing of Hoyleton, Eileen Rensing and Joan Wiegmann of New Baden, Audrey Ostermeier of Georgetown, TX, and Ralph & Jenny Rensing of Alhambra.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son in infancy, David Rensing; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy Bitters, Cornelius & Blanche Rensing, Marie & Al Norbeck, Jerome Rensing, and Robert Wiegmann.

Mrs. Rensing was the owner/operator of JR Travelers Tour Service for over 30 years. She was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. Janet loved traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden with Rev. Dale Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of services at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or Clinton County Relay for Life and will be received at the funeral home.
