Jane Alice Gonzalez

Jane Gonzalez, age 74 of Beckemeyer passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. She was born in Beckemeyer on November 5, 1944, the daughter of Joaquin “Jack” and Lorraine (Vahlkamp) Gonzalez.

She is survived by her siblings: Jack (Linda) Gonzalez of Beckemeyer, Mary (Steve) Kelso of Beckemeyer, Joe Gonzalez of Belleville, Ben (Jan) Gonzalez of Beckemeyer, Jupe Gonzalez of Beckemeyer, Chris (Randy) Dooley of Beckemeyer; nieces and nephews: Bryan (Krista), Scott, and Jason Gonzalez, Jamie (James) Unger, Bret (Lori) Kelso, Joe (Amanda) and Melissa Gonzalez, Jill (Jay) Warren, Matt (Colleen) Gonzalez, Megan (Liz) Claussen; great nieces and nephews: Cortney and Chelsea Crocker, Cooper, Maybry, and Murphy Unger, Riley Gonzalez, Bennett Gonzalez, Alex and Lane Claussen; and great-great niece Carter.

Ms. Gonzalez was preceded in death by her mother and father, and uncle Bud.

Jane was a member of St. Anthony Parish in Beckemeyer and a former parish council member. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and canning during the summer months and during the winter she enjoyed puzzles and an occasional trip to the casino. Above all she loved spending time with her siblings, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. A private burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 9:00 until 10:30 AM at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer.

Memorials made in memory of Jane are suggested to Mater Dei High School and will be received at church or at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
