James R. Garrison

James “Shotgun” R. Garrison, age 62, of Ossian, IN passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Beckemeyer. James was born on September 15, 1954 in Fairfield, IL the son of Barney and Barb (Lund) Garrison.

He is survived by three children: Dawn (Jerry) Wiebler, Liz (Colby) Rakers both of Beckemeyer and Nathan Garrison of Ossian, IN; four grandchildren: Lacey and Logan Wiebler, Mark and Dameyn Rakers; two sisters: Virginia Berry of Carlyle and Diana Garner of Decatur; his former wife and good friend Teresa Garrison of Ossian, IN; sisters-in-law: Mary Garrison of Arkansas and Lois Harris of Bonnie, IL.

Mr. Garrison was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Raymond, Charles, Woodrow “Woody” and Alvin “Sonny” Garrison.

James retired from General Motors and worked as a truck driver for Ormsby Trucking. He enjoyed golfing and going to the casino. Mr. Garrison loved spending quality time with his friends and family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle. Interment will follow at the Beckemeyer Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
