Helen M. Schrage

Helen M. Schrage, 88, of Smithton and formerly of Damiansville, died Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was born October 12, 1931 in New Baden, the daughter of Frank and Catherine, nee Wiegmann, Goebel.

She is survived by a daughter, Patty (Paul) Bradish of Ft. Collins, CO; two sons, Ronald Schrage of Ft. Collins, CO, and Tom Schrage of Smithton; five grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence (Sandy) Goebel of New Baden.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Goebel in 1965 and Lawrence Goebel in 1996; and a sister, Lucille M. Goebel in 1998.

Mrs. Schrage was a homemaker.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville with Rev. Anthony Onyango and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Damian Cemetery in Damiansville.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Damian Catholic Church in Damiansville.

Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the church or Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E. Hanover, New Baden, IL 62265 who is serving the family.
