Curtis Bruce Wright

Curtis Bruce Wright, age 88, of New Baden, died on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Bria of Belleville Nursing Home. He was born on December 19, 1934 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Curtis Jack and Maybelle (Westrope) Wright. He married Linda C. Huite in Belleville on July 27, 1982 and she survives in New Baden.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Sherye Wright of Belleville, Curtis P. Wright and wife Peggy of Mascoutah, Scott Wright and wife Laura of Alaska, Todd Wright, Mitch Wright, and Shawn Wright all of New Baden; bonus daughter, Christine Sohnrey and husband Steven of New Baden; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great - great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and son, Mark Wright; and bonus son, Robert “Michael” Huite.

Curtis was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was an avid train collector and also enjoyed woodworking, and fishing. Mr. Wright worked as the crossing guard in New Baden for over 20 years, it was a job that he loved. He treasured spending time with his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.
