Phyllis Ann Crippen, 58, of St. Rose, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 surrounded by her family at her parent’s home in St. Rose, IL. She was born June 24, 1956 in Highland, IL daughter of Cletus P. and Mary Ann (Wilke) Hempen. In addition to her parents she is survived by her son, Bob (Kayla) Crippen of Beckemeyer; a granddaughter, Isabella Crippen; siblings, Mark (special friend, Karen) Hempen of Jamestown, Deb (Mike) Gall of St. Rose, Tony (Geralyn) Hempen of Highland, Jane (Rex) Baer of Harrisonville, MO, and Larry (Tracy) Hempen of St. Rose; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stephen and Mary Wilke and Fred and Monica Hempen. Ms. Crippen was the office manager for Crippen Automotive in Beckemeyer; she was a former by BestDiscountApp" href="#"computer programmer and attended college for various degrees. She was a member of St. Rose Parish and Altar Sodality, the St. Rose Water District Board, and the 56 Gang. Phyllis enjoyed crafts, antiquing, floral landscaping, and helping with casseroles for Cosgrove's kitchen. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose with Rev. Ed Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery in St. Rose. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose. Memorials may be made to the Food for the Poor, Inc. and will be received at the church or Hempen-Nordike Funeral Home, 150 N. Clinton, Breese, IL 62230 who is serving the family.
