Jerry Dall

Gerald “Jerry” Dall of Maryville, IL, formerly of Carlyle, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville at the age of 77 years. Jerry was born in Aviston, IL on January 20, 1938, the son of Edward and Clara (Korte) Dall. He married Karen Milleville in Collinsville, IL on June 24, 2000 and she survives.

Jerry is also survived by his children: Mike Dall and wife Lori of Aviston, DeAnn Rizzi and husband Bob of Troy, Stephanie McSparin and husband David of St. Jacob, and E.J. Dall of Springfield, IL; step children: Valerie Fortner and husband Jeff of Maryville, Michael Alwardt and wife Jean of Crown Point, Indiana, and Cory Alwardt of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers: Frank Dall and wife Joann of Aviston and Jim Dall and wife Karen of Carlyle; brothers-in-law: Larry and Pat Milleville of Effingham, Ken and Judy Milleville of Altamont, Tim Deanna of Witchita, KS, and Randy and Rosa Melleville of Altamont; Sister-in-law: Doris and Larry Woehr of St. Louis; grandchildren: Christopher, Nicholas, Kennedy, Grant, Lauren, Brittany, Kaylei and Hayley; and nieces and nephews.

Jerry had served as the Sheriff of Clinton County for many years. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Illinois Sheriff’s Association having served as president, National Sheriff’s Association, Illinois Local Governmental Law Enforcement Officers Training Board, and the Goldsmith-Terry V.F.W. Post 3523 of Carlyle. He served in the United States Army with the 82 Airborne Unit.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck officiating. The interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.

Friends may visit with the family at the Nordike Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or St. Mary Church on Saturday from 8 until 9:45 A.M..
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Jerry’s honor to American Heart Association or the Wounded Warriors Fund and those will be received at the Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
